JUDGE VILLANUEVA:  Is it legal to eat dogs?
INTERVIEWER: Yes sir.
JUDGE VILLANUEVA:  Then, is it legal to eat dogs here in Baguio City?
INTERVIEWER:  Yes, sir.
JUDGE VILLANUEVA:  Well, as far as I know there is no law.  I think there is no law prohibiting the eating of dogs.
INTERVIEWER:  Okay.
JUDGE VILLANUEVA:  Although, there was a… one time there was a case filed, I think in my court regarding... They were asking for a, I think, a search warrant... a search warrant for the seizure of dogs, which were kept in cage and they were about to be butchered.
INTERVIEWER:  Yes, sir.
JUDGE VILLANUEVA:  But ah… I think I inhibited from that case with went to another court, another branch of this court.  The search warrant was granted.  The search warrant was granted.  In fact, the petitioner in that case was a foreigner, I think from England.
INTERVIEWER:  Oh, okay. Why?  How did they get a search warrant if it is not illegal to eat dog?
INTERVIEWER:  Oh, no.  Because the… Well, I think I’m not very sure.  But I… as if there were ano, pass in dealing with this to go with the animals also.
INTERVIEWER:  Okay.
JUDGE VILLANUEVA:  And so the search warrant was issued and the dogs were seized.  They were taken from the supposed butcher.
INTERVIEWER:  Right...
JUDGE VILLANUEVA:  And then I do not know what did they do to these dogs, you know.
INTERVIEWER:  Okay.
JUDGE VILLANUEVA:  Well, I’m not very sure, ha.
INTERVIEWER:  That’s okay, that’s okay.
JUDGE VILLANUEVA:  I’m not very sure if there is a law prohibiting the… but probably if they ate dogs _____ they do not inform the authority.
