Straight  from the Judge's mouth:  “So you see, part of the customs and tradition of the Filipinos especially this part of the country, the Cordilleras, they consider eating dog as a delicacy.” Well,  another misplaced interpretation of the law, coming from a Judge - trying to appear as though he understands the situation on the illegal dog meat trade, which has nothing at all to do with customs and traditions. He is right, however, in saying that we need a stiffer penalty for the violators of this law. As it is now, a violator when found guilty, is metted a fine of as low as $27.00!
