At present, there are three (3)
investigative teams that are in the
Philippines, China and Korea that have been
commissioned by our clients to conduct
investigative work on the dog and cat trade in
these countries. To date, it is the Philippine
investigative team that has submitted their
reports; henceforth the partial
information contained in this site.For
the Philippine dog meat trade investigations, the
Linis Gobyerno (Clean Governance/www.linisgobyerno.org) a Non-government
Organization (NGO) based in Baguio City,
Philippines, was tapped to assist our
investigative team. The team sent to the
Philippines on September 2005 to document
on a first hand basis were Martin Hannz, John
Stack and Deborah Jones, all veteran
investigatigative journalists in active
practice of their craft, that includes
contributions and participation
to various US-based broadsheets, news
magazines and other international print
media fora.
Some
of you may find the information contained in this
website to be offensive to your morals
and/or sensibilities; we wish to apologize
for this. However, it is our clients' and
benefactors' desire that the plain and
unadulterated facts be stated as they are, no
more no less. This being the case, we at Beyond
Borders Reporting are left with no choice, but to
present to you the cold and hard facts on the dog
meat trade presently existing in Baguio City,
Benguet Province and other parts of the
Cordillera Region in the Philippines.
We
agree and share in the vision of Linis Gobyerno
(Clean Governance) that the present Philippines
national shame, i.e. the dog meat trade can be
reduced to an insignificant bare minimum if
not totally eradicated in due time, if and when
the concerned Philippines officials
choose to have it stopped.
Aside
from the information and documentation on the
trade contained in this website, we enjoin you to
help out in the proposed steps and measures,
course(s) of action that all dog and animal
lovers can take to help put a stop to this
inhumane act.
Finally,
I leave you to ponder and dwell on the
words of Arthur Schopenhauer, (1788
1860) German Philosopher: Compassion for
animals is intimately connected with goodness of
character and it may be confidently asserted that
he who is cruel to animals cannot be a good
man.

We
believe that the Golden Rule applies to animals,
too. We don't accept the prevailing notion that
"people comes first" or that
"humans are more important than
animals." Animals feel pain and suffer just
as we do, and it is almost always humans making
animals suffer and not the other way around. Yet
in spite of how cruelly people behave towards
animals - not to mention human cruelty to other
humans - we are supposed to believe that humans
are superior to other animals. If people want to
fancy themselves as being of greater moral worth
than the other creatures on this earth, we should
begin behaving better than they do, and not
worse. Let's start treating everyone as we would
like to be treated ourselves.
